Quality Assurance

	Quality Assurance Celina Industries takes great pride in the quality of our work. In effort to set higher standards for ourselves, we have constructed a Quality Assurance Laboratory in our manufacturing facility. We own much of the same testing equipment as our textile manufacturers. Celina can ensure our customers are receiving the highest quality product available through rigorous quality testing. Helium Permeability Chamber - This piece of equipment is used on chemical / biological products to test heat seals. We perform sample welds on a designated fabric and then place the fabric sample into the permeability chamber. Once the sample is secure, we fill the chamber to a specified pressure. The chamber is then checked periodically over a 12 hour period. If the chamber still has the same amount of pressure that it had at the beginning of the test, it is a good seal with good weld settings. If the chamber has lost pressure, the weld is considered to be a failure. Leaks can be detected on welds by placing soapy water over the seam and then looking for air bubbles. Typically, if a seam fails it is on outside edge of the heat seal (also known as the heat affected zone). Tensile Tester – This piece of equipment is used to test the tensile strengths of various items including heat seals, sewn seams, fabrics, webbing, & rope. All tests are done in accordance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards. Not only does this equipment help verify our construction practices, but it also allows us to check the quality and consistency of incoming raw materials from our vendors. Vertical Flammability Chamber – The vertical flammability chamber allows us to do flame tests in house to verify the results supplied by our vendors. The flame resistance properties of fabrics are tightly regulated in many industries. In particular, the tent and membrane structure industries. Most fabrics we deal with are tested to NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, California State Fire Marshall, or ASTM standards. Compression Tester – The compression tester allows us to do various compression tests on multiple products. In particular, this machine tests the ultimate strength of resin folding chairs which are sold by Celina Enterprises. This machine has a 1,000 lb load cell on it currently, but can be easily retrofitted for a larger 10,000 lb load cell. MacBeth Spectra Light - The Macbeth Spectra Light allows us to evaluate color or shade differences in our fabrics. Standard lighting can skew your color perception. This machine uses patented 7-phosphor daylight simulation, which is the closest simulation of natural daylight in a fluorescent light source. Every lot of material we use is sampled and compared to a master sample for each fabric. This eliminates any chance of discolored fabric making it into our production process. MacBeth Spectra Light
